What’s the best way to get to Magaluf from Palma airport?
Book a private transfer
Magaluf is about 29 kilometres (18 miles) from Palma Airport, which means a quick 25-minute drive to get there.Once you land, you’ve got a few ways to get to Magaluf, each with its own vibe when it comes to cost, convenience, and travel time. Don’t worry, though—we’ve broken down all the options so you can pick the one that suits you best!
For a super chill, no-stress ride straight to your hotel, booking a private driver is the way to go! It’s actually a pretty sweet deal compared to a taxi, especially if you’re travelling with a big group or family (check out the taxi comparison for more). The drive from Palma Airport to Magaluf takes about 25 minutes, so you'll be there in no time!Pre-booking a private transfer from Palma Airport to Magaluf means you get a bunch of perks: an English-speaking driver, a friendly meet-and-greet in the Arrivals hall with a sign with your name on it, plus a comfy, air-conditioned mini-bus that’s fully insured. And if you're travelling with little ones, no worries—baby seats and boosters are available for free!
Take a taxi from the airport
As soon as you land, you’ll find plenty of taxis ready to whisk you from Palma Airport to Magaluf. A regular taxi for up to 4 people will cost around €55 - 65, though the price can vary depending on the time, holidays, and how much luggage you’ve got.
If you’ve pre-booked an airport transfer to Magaluf, it’ll cost about the same for up to 4 people, but it’s a much better deal if you’re travelling with a bunch of friends or family since you won’t need multiple taxis. But if you're flying solo or with a partner and want to save a few bucks, the bus might be a better option!
Take the bus
If you're looking to keep it budget-friendly, the bus is your best bet for getting from Palma Airport to Magaluf, especially if you’re landing during the day.During summer and peak season, there's a direct bus (Line A11) from Palma Airport straight to Magaluf. The A11 bus is run by the TIB company, and it also covers the return trip from Magaluf to the airport. It goes all the way from Palma Airport to Peguera, with a stop in Magaluf. Just head out of the arrivals hall, cross the bus park, and you’re set! A ticket will set you back about €6.75. You can check out the timetable and current fare on the website.
If the direct bus isn’t running, no worries—you can take bus 547 to Estaciò Intermodal (Plaça Espanya) and then switch to buses 104 or 107 for the rest of the journey to Magaluf. You can find the schedules for both buses online!
Do I need travel insurance for Magaluf?
Magaluf has plenty of medical centres and doctor’s offices, some open 24/7, just in case you need them! We highly recommend getting travel insurance with medical cover before you head off, because trust us, a lot of people end up needing it for one reason or another—and it can get pricey if you’re not covered. It's a good idea to sort out travel insurance before you leave home, especially since many clinics have English-speaking doctors and are more tourist-friendly. For a few extra pounds, you can add an excess waiver to your insurance, meaning you won’t have to pay anything upfront at the clinic. Sweet, right?
Just be careful—some policies are "Pay & Claim," where you have to pay the bills yourself and then claim the money back later. Stick with traditional policies that let the doctor bill the insurance directly, or you might find your holiday budget disappearing fast!
Quick tip: Always double-check your policy to make sure you’re covered for medical emergencies. Stay safe, and enjoy your trip!

Magaluf is a pretty safe spot, with local police keeping an eye on things around the strip. But just like any party town, there are a few simple rules to follow to stay safe and sound:
Take it easy on the drinks – The booze here is stronger than what you’re used to, so pace yourself and enjoy the night without rushing.
Look after your mates – Never let a friend wander home alone, especially if they've had a bit too much. Stick together!
Avoid dark spots – Stay away from the beach or quiet streets at night, like you would in any busy city.
Respect the police – If things kick off, they’re there to help, so listen up. If you're not involved, just keep your distance.
Follow the local rules – No drinking on the street and always wear a shirt (seriously, they mean it!). Break the rules and you might get fined.
Avoid crowds at 4am – Bars close at 4am, and clubs at 6am. If you're not a fan of the chaos, head out a bit earlier to avoid the crowd.
